Signing Letter of Intent delegation Poltava 29 June 2010

During this visit, a letter of intent was signed between the city of Poltava and the Dutch companies BGP Engineers, Nijkamp Aanneming and the German business company IFT GmbH for the intention of renovation of the full district heating system in Poltava.

About the theme Industry

This theme includes energy saving in the industry. Not only in the notorious energy intensive sectors (petro-) chemistry, basics materials and construction materials. Also the large sized food processing industry.

For the Dutch business, the chances in Ukraine in the field of industry are identified.

There are many possibilities for Dutch parties in the field of energy and energy saving. Examples are efficient devices such as steam, water and gas turbines, water measurement devices and central heating boilers. Furthermore, also consultancy service in the field of energy and energy saving. There is no structured import of goods for this sector (yet). The Dutch business has a strong position of knowledge in the field of energy. The Netherlands has acknowledged engineer agencies, project developers, construction companies, developers of energy saving technologies etc which are all able to contribute on the challenge which Ukraine has in the field of energy.

NUSEP plans a sequence of activities in the field of industry to develop the possibilities of energy saving. This includes:
• Knowledge development and transfer by market research, maintain/building a network with governments, business, NGO organizations, knowledge institutes, sector organizations and sharing data through the NUSEP website.
• Project development to improve energy housekeeping by agenda settings, best practices, assistance and advises by experts, recruitment of financial resources and subsidies for projects.
• Collective promotion of the Dutch business by outgoing and incoming trade missions, continuous promotion in Ukraine (sector, technology) and work visits.

The exact working-plan will be discussed in October and November by the members of NUSEP and the EVD. This working-plan will be a part of the 2g@there program for the years 2009 – 2012. Dutch companies and organizations who want to collaborate are invited.
